Un hôtel idéalement situé , au calme et très bien tenu A 2 pas de Thamel et tellement au calme ! Chambres spacieuses, lumineuses, très bien tenues ( et jolies peintures refaites ) , sdb avec eau chaude qui fonctionne , balcon au soleil . Immense terrasse avec vue sur Swayambunath. Et un gérant Saput à l’ecoute , très honnête et toujours prêt à renseigner et réserver des billets moins chers qu'en ligne : le bus pour Pokhara part à 5mn de l'hôtel , idéal le matin . Nepal Perfect start for visiting Nepal. Nice people en excellent view from the rooftop. They can arange a guide. And go from here for a mountain trekking. Don't forget to look around in Kathmandu. Nearby Thamel is great for shopping and restaurants.

Great place to stay and enjoy Thamel and Kathmandu I have stayed at Avalon for a week and have just returned after 8 day trekking. Saput the owner is a kind man who gives good advice and is always there for any kind of support or information query. The rooms are basic but comfortable and the property is 5 min from hectic Thamel located in a quiet backstreet. There is an incredible terrace which overlooks much of Kathmandu. The breakfast is lovely and the coffee enjoyable. There is also the choice of ordering Nepali foods if you so choose. I know that for me this place will be a go back to place as I feel like I am at home. All the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. 5 stars from me.

Clean, cheap , good location and friendly and kind staff The hotel's location is good for exploring the city, as it is close to many of the major tourist attractions and cultural sites. The staff at the Avalon House were incredibly welcoming and friendly, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. Moreover Saput contacted me via email before arriving to Kathmandu to make sure if I needed any assistance for pick up from the airport and for further assistance, when i checked out he arranged an taxi too. Cosy place in a great location I would like to recommend the stay at Avalon House (by the way, great name for someone who likes the spiritual dimension of his travels - like shambala, elysium or valhalla). Great location in Thamel - walking distance from the main shopping and restaurant area, yet quite place. Wonderful stuff always ready to bring you tea, cofee and breakfast on the amazing room terace. Cosy clean rooms some with balcony, modest yet functional bathroom with hot shower. I loved morning excercise and meditaion on the terace overlooking entire Kanthamandu and the hills around. Great! Rooms are basic but beds are comfortable as well the pillows are comfy. Staff are friendly and efficient. Nice breakfast of eggs, toast, juice and coffee! Quiet area and the price can't be beat! Sit toilet is a nice feature and there was hot water!

Excellent stay Very nice and helpful owner, breakfast at a beautiful terrace, big clean room with balcony, hot water, central but quiet location. Warmly recommended to any traveller who looks for a relaxing place in Kathmandu.
